In the context of the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), YouTube has introduced a set of principles aimed at using AI in the music industry. There are only three of them, and they provide for the responsible attitude of the platform and its partners towards AI, measures to protect content for its authors and the creation of a security policy.

Overall, YouTube says it plans to update its policies on AI-generated content and also implement AI to detect videos that violate the platform’s rules.

In addition, the company suggested that it could launch the program by analogy with the already existing Content ID program, but for AI music and “music partners who want to participate in it.” Under this program, for example, copyright holders will be able to track videos with their content and decide whether to block or monetize it.

YouTube also plans to partner with the music label Universal Music and its subscribed artists. For this purpose, the platform announced the creation of an “AI music incubator” to interact with artists, composers and producers. It’s not yet clear how this will work, but the company promises to share details about specific technologies, monetization opportunities, and content protection policies soon.
